Mike Martain, Tony Cuneo Jess Frosh Coach Jim Popham looks on anxiously to give his team support. 7 Preibe, Tom Jensen, Glenn The best meets were against Apollo and Pres- cott. The team wrestled hard, said Coach Grun- dler. The freshman wrestling team finished this sea- son with an overall 5 wins and 5 losses. This year's student coach, Jim Popham, gradu- ated two years ago from Paradise Valley and was also state Champ. Jim Popham is currently enrolled at Glendale Community College to fur- ther his education. The team participated at the Phoenix College Tournament against freshnmen from all over the state. Captains were chosen on a rotation due to their performance before a match. ' A requirement for wrestlihg is that the student pass four subjects, have a goodsstanding with the school and have a desire for the sport.
