State Champions Andre Fournier and Derrick Roberts. said varsity wrestling coach Frank Grundler. The team won the Skyline Division by one half of a point over Moor Valley with 12 teams entered. The 3 division champs and captain: were Andre Fournier, Derrick Roberts and Tony Popovich. Andre Fournier and Derrick Roberts went on to Sunnyside l-ligh School if Tucson to win the state championship. lt was a feeling of accom plishment to be able to reach my goal, said Andre. Also going to state were Mike Teed at 129 lbs., Bruce Burwell 182 lbs., Jeff Bisbee at 115 lbs. and Tony Popovich at 122 lbs. whi placed third in state. These hard working young men have been wrestling since thei freshman year. Aiding Coach Grundler with year were Roger Fournier, forme state champ Jim Popham and Reed Newell, a former state contender too. lt felt really good to win after a long period of hard work, saia Derrick Roberts, state champ. Other outstanding wrestlers were Dave Buckely, Todd Rawlinson Rob Cleveland, George Humrich and Dave Monroe.

Scott Wolf and Mark MacGowen bring the ball up court. Our JV team should be a strong one with some dedicated freshmen coming up, said Coach Tony McClure. This year's freshman team ended their season vvith a 2-O-14 record. The freshman team had the capa- bility of begin a good team. Being freshmen they did need more discipline and dedication to the sport, said Coach McClure. By the end of the season, the team was more mature and more dedicated. Some outstanding players were Bon Akre, who averaged 12.5 points per gameg and Steve Sounart, Scott Wolf, Mark MacGovven, and Ftich Johnson.
