The Pride of Para- dise has been the only Arizona high school band to participate in the parade's full nine years of existence. The PVHS Marching Band also partici- pated in the University of Arizona Band Day receiving an excellent rating. The Trojans marched through the first semester of the school year performing at a total of 10 football pre-games and halftimes. Halftime shows performed by the Pride of Paradise included designs formed on the field to resemble certain objects. A giant cat was the highlight of the designs which was formed on the football field by all 100 members of the band at the home football game against Greenway High. When in formation of the cat, the band played the song Alley Cat. Students painted giant pieces of paper cardboard and tape which were used to form the eyes, ears and whiskers of the cat. Other designs formed by the marching band included hot dogs, swirls, numbers and diamonds. For Homecoming, the marching band formed a tunnel for the l-iomecoming Roy- alty. x x.,m kk It takes a precision group to successfully perform a routine for an audience. as -- .st . X GEM,
