Basketbabes watch patiently throughout the game. K Basketbabes Basketbabes work very diligently to aid the basketball team during the season by going to all the basketball games and taking statistics. These stattistics are important to the guys because it could help them or hurt them in the future. lt's important that the girls learn all stats as best they can. The requirements for this club are that the girls must be friendly and have good grades and must be willing to work hard and take the time out for all of the activities the team does. Thisclub consisted of fourteen members divided into two groups, Basketbabes and Basketeers. Both girls help sup- port the team by cheering and boosting school spirit. The Basketbabes wear blue jeans and white shirts with rel sleeves. The Basketeers wear blue jeans and white sweater To acquire these uniforms, they sold popcorn in decante and Christmas grams and also got sponsors for a Skate- thon that was held on a Saturday in Scottsdale. The sponsor is Coach Scott Burdette and the officers the Basketbabes are Traci Sumner, Captain, Rae Ellen Cay nar, co-captain, Jennifer O'Mara, secretary, Tammy Clar treasurer. The members of the Basketeers are Kim Cappell Kelly Miller, Donna Nowlin, Michelle O'Mara, Sheri O'Ma and Ftemee Branning.

Y - 'R . Quill and Scroll is an honorary society whose pur- , pose is to recognize the students for their accomplish- ments in Journalism, not to organize as a social activ- ity, said Mrs. Stanfield, sponsor. During the school year the advisor and present members make a list of possible candidates. The candidates are then checked for the following qualifications: they must be of junior or senior classification to be active members of a local chapterg they must be in the upper third of their class in general scholastic standing, either for the year of the election or for the cumulative total of all their high school work, they must have done superior work, such as writing, editing, management or productiong they must be recommended by the committee governing publicationsg and they must be approved by the Execu- tive Secretary of the Society. Candidates having been approved, receive a letter tor themselves, family and friends to attend a formal ini- tiation. Present members conduct the ceremony which takes place in the spring by candlelight. A reception for the new members follows. Puttting up the Quill and Scroll Charter are members Brook DeWalt, Caryn Myer, Laurie Bennetto, Alyssa Haspel and Colleen Smith. Angel Drill Team The Angel Drill Team, under a new sponsor, Ms. Cindy Batko, has had another busy season with shows throughout the state. The Drill Team has decreased in size from 18 last year to 9 this year, but the performance has remained the same, outstanding, commented Sponsor Cindy Batko. This year's activities consisted of two shows at the Arizona State Fair, Color Guard for the Bowler's Victory League and a first place performance inthe Gom- 'E' he i iii per's Christmas parade. ,av , , i i N' X it it games.
