The matmaids keep score and clock the wres- tlers. The wrestlerettes cheer and encourage the wrestlers in the stands. Together they have sold calendars, candy and cups. The money went toward the trip to San Diego in December. They also ran the consessions at the games to raise the money for the wrestlers to go to the Sky- line Wrestling Tournament at Tucson in February. There was a Wrestling Banquet in February at which awards were given. For the first year the matmaids were paid for operating the scoreboard. The matmaids and wrestlerettes had a problem of transportation this year. They were only given a van for away games. Therefore, only 6 girls from both matmaids and wrestlerettes were allowed to go to the away games.

Brett Webb, Rick Shaw and Gerald Gill discuss hik- ing and different gear with a representative from a local hiking store. The Arizona History and Hiking club has been very active this year. Their first hike was to Syca- more Canyon. They also went to the Superstitions. The club is about half the size of last year's club. This has enabled them to save on transportation costs to the hiking sites because they can now use the school van. Although the hikers may begin to have to chip in for gas, that still would be consider- ably cheaper than renting a bus. A representative from the Hiking Shack spoke to the club about different hiking gear available. On Jan. 8, the Hiking Shack then set up a display on the football field showing the different types of hik- ing gear. The members of the club are very involved this year. A few members organized themselves over Chrismas break and went back to the Superstitions for another hike.
