Co Computer Club Members Charlie Plogman and Brian Bernal put a program into the computer erminal. Computer Club The goal of the Computer Club is to give the students who are interested in computers a chance to get the experience and knowledge needed for computer fields, said Mr. Paul Cor- nell, computer club sponsor. The Computer Club consists of approximately 20 students. The only requirement that the club has is that each student either be enrolled in a computer math course or have completed a computer course. We have a fairly adequate computer room although we could use some move advanced equipment and terminals, said Mr. Cornell. The Computer Boom consists ot two Apple Micro-Computers and three time sharing com- puter terminals. The Apple Computers are a unit within themselves. They are not connected to one master computer. The time sharing com- puter terminals are tied into a Master Computer in Scottsdale. Paradise Valley shares the Master Computer with other local schools and busi- nesses. We are allowed only so much time on the computer. This gives others the chance with the computer. The students learn how to program a com- puter by setting up various activities such as games, problem solving skills or exercise in logic. Alter programming the computer, the stu- dents can challenge themselves by matching wits with the computer. 5 inda Turner, Brian Bernal, Mr. Cornell, Diego Cardenas. mputer Club Members: Top Row: Charlie Plogman, Bob Pellegrino, Dee Burgess, Wayne Kennedy, Susan Fabanich. The club also gave stu- dents more experience with working with clients with obtain- ing outside jobs and designing logos. This club was originated by Ms. Shack and Ms. Mahoney, commercial arts teachers, about three years ago. Some ot the students of the club were involved in making projects for school clubs and outside jobs such as posters for the play Cheaper by the Dozen, by Brian Lover, senior. The designs for Pom and Cheer T-Shirts were done by Ann Waltz, senior.
