Oquguaf - Time and dedication are two of the qualifications needed to be on the Paradise Val- ley High School yearbook staff. To further their knowledge about yearbooks, several members attended the workshop at Northern Arizona University over the summer. Five of the staff members gave up one week of their summer vacation to attend the workshop. The five were Liza Acuna, Alyssa Haspel, Alan Lay, Dina MacDougaIl, and Colleen Smith. The culmination of workshop for photographers was a showing of their work at the final banquet. Dina MacDougaIl's photo placed third in the miscellaneous category. 1980-81 Staff! Staffers attend summer camp Mike Greene, Michelle Alien and Liza Acuna from the Trojan Times staff attended a workshop at Northern Arizona University from June 11-18. Mrs. Phyllis Stanfield, Newspaper and Yearbook Adviser, went up on June 10 to prepare for her classes. She taught Newspaper and had a begin- ning seminar. Through the workshop I learned about many new and different styles of layouts and ideas of putting a newspaper together, commented Co- Editor, Mike Greene. Diane Peschio, exchange editor, looks through newspapers from various schools in Arizona. Printing change saves travel time One important change in the production of the Trojan Times was the move to a new print shop. The new printers, George and Sandy Oller, Master Printing, are located on 32 Street, south of Bell Road. This helped tremendously in saving time and gasoline. In past years the Trojan Times had been printed at the Tempe Daily News. George and Sandy are new to the Valley. They were a big help to the editors when they read proof at the print shop. Jim Zawicki, sports reponer, takes notes while interviewing Coach Grundler. Mark Gartrell, head cartoonist, carefully finishes his sketches for the next deadline. The convention was highlighted by a musical slide show about Phoenix, presented by the Ari- zona Republic and Phoenix Gazette. Trojan Triumphs '81 Co-editors . . . Alyssa says, Being a co- editor has given me leadership and publication experience that will help me in the years to come . Colleen commented, Being on the staff gave me chance to make the best memory book for 1981 After graduation Colleen plans to attend Arizona State University, majoring in public Relations.
