Ms. Shirley Andro Mrs. Geri Cosentino Miss Justine Gray Department Chairman Media Aide Media Technician The Media Center's Television Studio is now almost up to professional standards and can be used by classes at Paradise Valley and by other schools in the district. The television studio is one of the most important aspects of the Media Center. Many classes use the studio for their own curricular activities. The Media Center is trading in all of their obsolete equipment to buy Video tapes. Audio Visual is another part of the Media Center. Over 2.000 students and 150 teachers make use of this equipment. In addition, AV also does the greater portion of all the off-set duplication for the teachers' curriculum. The library maintains a 20.000 book volume and subscribes to 120 magazines. All back magazine issues are kept on Microfische for student use. Media Center offers resource books such as the encyclopedia for student use. Computer terminal aids scheduling Three new counselors and a computer terminal to aid in scheduling are two major changes in the Guidance Department this year. These additions were made to help handle the increased enroll- ment at PV this school year. The purpose of the guidance department is to assist students toward maximum adjustment socially. emotionally and academically. com- mented Mr. Jim Hamm. senior coordinator counselor. With the addition of :lie new counse- lors. schedule changes went more smoothly this year than in the past. The counselors provide students with the needed information on high school schedules. They also counsel students headed for college. with college aptitude testing. college entrance applications and financial aid forms. Miss Heather Blair runs the career center which is sponsored hy the Guidance Depart- ment. .. 4 E.
