A Students learn to drive afely in Driverls Ed. The driving benefits toward students who take Driver's Ed. are much greater than those for students who don't take it, said Mr. Dale Frost, Driver's Education Chairman. Teachers helping with the behind-the-wheel driving include Mr. Dale Frost, Mr. Scott Burdette, Mr. Mike Mauger, Mr. .lim Huehne, Mr. Dan Ide and Mr. Ron Moore. During the behind-the-wheel driv- ing, the student is taken out in a car to various locations around the city so he may learn to drive in many conditions. Three new films and filmstrips have been added to help with the teaching part of the class and to update older films. Though the cost of Driver's Ed. can be high because of the behind- the-wheel driving, it is still well received by most of the student body. An estimated 85 to 9072, of all students take Driver's Ed. during their sophomore orjunior years, said Mr. Frost. With the addition of three new films and filmstrips, the Driver's Ed. Department hopes to help more students to drive safely long after they have completed the class. Mr. Dale Frost Department Chairman Mr. Scott Burdette Mr. Mike Mauger 'if l. Donna Brown, Mary Ann Burdett, Sherri Elliott, Patti Bolmberg and Sandi Mitchell learn good driving skills by practicing on the simulators. 2.
