With the construction of the new gym, much more is available to provide the stu- dents with more opportunities to develop their skills. An upstairs weight room, with all new weights inside, was built adjoining the gym with a new locker room underneath. There is also a new dance room providing space for dancing to music. This is the second year for Co-Education Activities and so far the program is a success, stated Athletic Director and Pysical Education Department Chairman Mr. Charles Baker. The students participate in different games and sports throughout the year. The girls and boys play games like bas- ketball, volleyball, tennis and football. Co-Education classes and many elective courses make the P.E. classes both exciting and enjoyable for many PV students this year, said P.E. teacher Miss Mcllvain. Indu trial art adds equipment i.--A 'gvf ergo - After being completed almost two and one half years ago. Paradise Valley's Vocational liduca- tion building is still on the move. With the addition of new equipment. students have learned to produce things better and faster in their various vocational areas. The auto shop. which is set upjust about like a garage. acquired a new steam cleaner for cleaning engines and other parts. Autobody is also set upjust like a professional shop. They can do E1 paintjob for anyone and any profit goes toward new equipment. This year they bought a body and frame puller that cost 54.300 and can pull 20 tons! Vocational classes include graphic arts. welding. drafting. metals. woods. electronics and many more.
