Industrial Cooperative Education QICEJ and Vocational Industrial Clubs of America CVICAD offer to students a wide variety of job opportu- nities ranging from computer programmers to mechanics. lCE,s main goal is to prepare students for the world of workf, said Mr. Frank Passerella, coordinator of ICE. This is accomplished through learning about the various types of insurance, how to balance a checkbook, how to fill outjob applications and about housing and morgages. All the seniors enrolled in ICE! VICA go to classes in the morning and work in the after- noon. This past fall ICE members attended the Tuc- son fall convention in which officers were elected on a national level. ICE sponsored several activities this past yearg a bike-a-thon, a dance on Jan. 25 and bagel sales every Thursday. All proceeds to go the annual employer-employee banquet at the end of the year. 180 ICE member Laury Cox, sells bagels to Shawn Hertzog, Robin Richards and Tina Mysliwiec. Rhonda Lehman. f-.W 1179, Home Economics Related Occupations CHEROJ along with the Home Economics classes sold cookbooks to raise money for the Society to Assist Brain Injured Children QSABICJ to help 2 young brain injured girls. Their goal was to raise 52000. S1000 was for a special wheelchair with many different supportive braces for one of the girls because she also has Cerebral Palsy. The other S1000 is for a girl that lives in Arizona but needs to go to California for treatment. Her parents have very little money or insurance so this money will be used for doctor and other medical expenses. The four types of cookbooks were sold for ten days in October. The money was raised successfully. The HERO club did something special this year with their famous Fuzzy Footballs. They presented the Home- coming Royalty with monogrammed, King and Queen Fuzzy Footballs. Miss Barbara Porter, HERO coordinator, involved the students in many different activities. They had two dances, one after the first football game and a Thanksgiving Dance Nov. 2l. They also sold Turkey Grams and Pretzels every Wednesday. The club helped the Booster Club on Hallow- een night at Roadrunner Park by running three booths. Two meetings the HERO club attended were National Conference at Mountain Shadows in October and the other, the Leadership Convention in Mesa. On Dec. 19 they had their Christmas Dinner for the club members and then had an Employee Banquet on May 5. 5 ..
