Only two seniors played for the Paradise Valley Tennis Team this year with the rest of the team consisting of sophomores and one freshman, The only returning varsity player was Greg Small. Greg has played on varsity for four years and played in the number one position this year. Frosh Walk a ay with undefeated season With the first undefeated season in 4 years. the Freshman wrestling team finished an outstanding season. They started out the season with a 63-I2 win over Camelback High School, Another exciting match was over Glendale. The mighty Trojans won 54-l2. Some outstanding wrestlers were Doug Rifen. the fastest pin. I2 sec- onds. The most pins were Ernie Valenzuela and Tim Harris. each with 8 pins. and Mike Teed with 9 pins. Mark Marsillo was another outstanding Grappler with I3 take downs. ll reversals and 5 escapes. Undefeated wrestlers were Tim Harris. Ernie Valenzuela and Dan Galindo. Teresa Ross. The Girls' Varsity' tennis squad made a quick sweep away when they met Greenway' in their first match of the season with the score showing 9 and 0. Both JY and Varsity squads consisted of six players each coached by Mrs. Barbara Paajanen. JY also play ed very well and hit Greenway with the score standing 6-l. The JY squad consiss of all sophomores this year, Varsity con- sisted of two seniors and fouryuniors. Other opponents played by PN. were Cortez. Varsity 6-3. JY 6-l: and Apollo. Varsity 6-3.
