Cross Countr places Second in divisionals The Paradise Valley Cross Country team took the Pres- cott Invitational meet for the third year in a row and fin- ished with a I3-3 record. The team finished with a strong second in the divisional meetg however, they didn't do as well in the state meet, placing fourteenth. The team's below-par showing was credited to the fact that the team didn't have one excep- tional runner who stood out over the rest of the team although there was a tremendous team effort and alot of team spirit. For the first year in the school's history there was a girls' team which finished with a 6-7 record. The JV and Freshman teams had very good seasons with the JV team having a record of ll-4 and freshmen 9-5. According to Coach Mel Rising, 'fWe had a very good season considering we had only two returning lettermen on the Varsity team. :mp Dave Moravek strives to cross the finish line.
