Combining the library with the A. V. department Was one of P. V. 's recent improvements. The northeast side of the library Was to be converted into a separate area for the use of guest speakers and certain classes such as Film and the Film- maker. All books in the library are available for stu- dents to check out, including encyclopedias. The number of books in the library has more than doubled in the last three years, bringing the to total to 22, OOO. There are a number of machines for the students' use such as tape recorders, film- strip previewers, three typevvritters and a Xerox machine. The library has .been investing in more ma- chines that will help students in their studies and classes. They ordered a Microfiche reader printer. lt is capable of printing and magnify- ing a Whole book on film or a 315 card. This method prevents the film or card from being Worn out or lost. More typevvriters are on order because ofthe great demand for them by students. This year the library encouraged students to check out as much equipment as they would like. Portable micro-film readers, automatic sound film-strip viewers and magazines are avail- able for check-out use. The director of the Media Center is Miss Golay and Mrs. Taylor is now the head librar- ian. The Graphic Arts Technician is Mrs. Hutson and other members of the Media Center staff are Mrs. Unruh and Mrs. Parizek. Students Kurt Isreal, Andrea Stenken and Dan Garson get an early start on their homework in the library.
