The Fine Arts Department, headed by Mr. Law- rence Wittig, offers a wide selection of courses. Since this department includes art, drama, and music, both choral and instrumental, many stu- dents have enrolled in Fine Arts classes. A purpose of the Fine Arts Department is to make the students aware of certain cultural activi- ties and thus be able to apply their knowledge elsewhere after they graduate. Each separate section of this department has had activities connected with it brought to the student body. Math Teachers Aim for Improved Study Habits Samuel Polvino Joseph VandenOever The three goals of the mathematics teachers are: 13 improved study habits for students, 23 im- proved math attitudes, and 33 an application of math skills. Each teacher employs his individual teaching method. However, as described by Mr. Mac Haynie, department head, the main method is traditional with modern concepts. New tech- niques are always tried.
