English Offers Variety of Courses As the English Department started its school year, three new courses were added to the cur- riculum, plays, Shakespeare and World Literature. lt became apparent as the year progressed, that Science Fiction and Film and The Film Maker were the most popular courses among the students. Two new teachers were introduced to the teach- ing staff: Mrs. Mowaked-Ardbillie and Mr. Todd Pollock. Also new this year was the beginning of the Title I program which enables special study for students needing extra help in reading. Miss Jo Ann Harvey, department head for the past 14 years, believes the most important goals in this area include having semester courses and allowing students to go into more specific areas of study after their basic Freshman English.
