Paradise Township is rightly proud of the youth graduated from its High School. We can look with pride on the hue scholastic records attained by those of our Alumni who have entered various colleges in the past. lt is diflicult to enumerate or to sum up the vast accomplishments and high achievements of our graduates who have passed through these portals and have gone onward and upward to new heights of success. Nevertheless, it is easy enough to reason that because of them this com- munity is a better place in which to live. edifdge FROM OUR SUPERVISING RINCIPAL You, the members of the graduating class, have reached an important milestone in your lives. This is an important time for you. It is also equally important for your schoolmates, your parents and your friends. The interest of the whole community is centered around your Commencement and rightly so, for the schools represent the largest investment in this community. The community has made an investment of dollars and cents in you and they are eager to wish you well in this graduation season. To everyone of you is given a life to be lived. You want to do your best and make the most of it. The big question that confronts you is how to accomplish the most with the energies, the powers, and the talents at your command. Of course, life is large and short. It is impossible to grasp all of its meaning at once, so you must make your choice, you must choose. It becomes necessary to pick out the vital and essential things of life, and to cast aside those things not essential. This may seem easy now, but as time goes on, the world will not prove to be the same as it seemed in the quiet surroundings of your high school career. Life becomes harder to handle than you once thought. Theories fail. It is the hope of your faculty that your school has helped you develop the talents which are yours, and has helped you to recognize your own capabilities. It is the hope of your teachers that you have been inspired to seek your goal to the best of your ability. No one can ask or expect you to do better. It is a good plan to let go of pretense, worry, discontent and self-seeking if you would make the best of your life and substitute work, friendship, love, faith and understanding. Glory, fame, and renown are to be sought, but may not always be captured. Worry not about the acclaim of the crowds. Your best judge is yourself. When you are pleased with your real self, when you can tell yourself that you have done the best that you can with the talents that you have, then you have conquered your frontier. Someone has aptly and beautifully said: Life is the mirror of king and slave, 'Tis just what we are and so, Then give to the world the best you have, And the best will come back to you. Steadiecl by the experience of your parents and friends and guided by their counsel and careg equipped with the training which our school has endowed you with, clothed in the faith and trust of youth, with all the enthusiasm and vigor that belongs to the young, may you go forth into the world and find all the happiness, success, and the realization of all the dreams you have held thru the years, Congratulations and good luck to you upon reaching your graduation. May your hope be high as you go forth into life. ARTHUR W. ESHELMAN, Supa. Priu. Seven
