For these two unique teachers there really is M. Ill© ©It©? Mrs. Dixie Holland and Coach Brian Deady are good examples of teachers with interesting hobbies. During working hours, Mrs. Dixie Holland is a third grade teacher. After the children leave school, she dashes home and suddenly changes to energetic racing demon. Mrs. Holland first became interested in running in 1984. While watching the summer Olympics, her husband decided that he was not exercising enough. Soon Mr. Holland was running a little every day. Two weeks later, Mrs. Holland decided he was serious about his running and she joined him. They now run two to four miles a day. Mrs. Holland sets goals for herself, reaches them and sets new ones. She also keeps a log. It motivates her to look back and see how far she has jogged. She has even entered a bi-athalon in Burleson where she ran 3.1 miles and biked 10 miles. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Holland have won numerous trophies, belt buckles gift certificates and medals. Coach Brian Deady, otherwise known as Gorilla, typifies the tough, masculine athletic director. But if you think his Iterests run only to sports, you don't know the real Coach Deady. He strongly em- phasizes academic excellence and is one of the stricter teachers. Most surprising of all is that beneath his rough and tough exterior lurks a creative, artistic soul. Coach Deady enjoys oil painting, wood burning and photography. About three years ago. Coach Deady's creative wife, Denny, bought him a surprise Christmas present — art lessons. The more he learns about painting, the more he enjoys it. His favorite scenes are horses, barns and rolling mountains. Coach Deady is also an accomplished photographer. His pho- tographs often highlight the WISE COGMTY MESSENGER. Although Coach Deady could sell his artwork, he chooses to give them as presents. And this is the guy we call Gorilla?
