Robert C. Lacy Superintendent Superintendent’ Message Education is heavily into the business of growing up. Growing up is the art ol living in peace with that which we cannot change, thc courage to change that which could be changed, and the wisdom to know the difference. Taking time out to think about the things that really matter and count is a sign of growing up. Other signs might be a smile, providing a shoulder to lean on, patting so- meone on the back, giving an unexpected hug, saying good mor- ning (even if it isn't), talking to a lonely child, cleaning the house for Mom, shar- ing a dream, trying to understand an adult, Irying to understand a teenager, laughing when the jokes on you, etc. Growing up isn't always easy but if we all did some of these things on a regular basis, perhaps grow- ing up would be a lit- tle easier.
