What two things bring back memories so vividly as pictures and songs? Our theme combines pictures and music in hopes of bringing to you the essence of the moments wo spent together this year. So sit back and reminisce about the days of old with that old time rock 'n roll” and the 1987 yearbook. Lacy Superintendent Superintendent’ Message Education is heavily into the business of growing up. Growing up is the art ol living in peace with that which we cannot change, thc courage to change that which could be changed, and the wisdom to know the difference. Taking time out to think about the things that really matter and count is a sign of growing up. Other signs might be a smile, providing a shoulder to lean on, patting so- meone on the back, giving an unexpected hug, saying good mor- ning (even if it isn't), talking to a lonely child, cleaning the house for Mom, shar- ing a dream, trying to understand an adult, Irying to understand a teenager, laughing when the jokes on you, etc. Growing up isn't always easy but if we all did some of these things on a regular basis, perhaps grow- ing up would be a lit- tle easier. After all, we arc all still growing up. Robert C. Lacy j School Board: Standing: Koy Jones, C. I. Nelon, Robert Crawford, V. Pres., I, T. Cook, Pres. Sitting: C. G. When you picture Frank Copeland, a laughing, animated face comes to mind. He never appears to be in a bad mood because, according to Frank, It's no fun to be sad. If I am sad, I pep myself up.” Frank has lived in Azle, Gaiveston, Houston, Chicago, and Paradise. His favorite school is Paradise because everyone's friendly. Everybody knows each ofher. The teachers care about you and Coach Deady always wants you tn pass.'1 In his spare time, Frank enjoys playing soccer, drawing, or doing calligraphy, which he learned while attending a private school. Frank has recently started riding bulls. Frank has had his share of sadness, loo. His dad had to have his leg rebuilt because of an injury he received in Vietnam. Several years later, when his dad was 35 and Frank was 9 his dad had a fatal heart attack. The attack was believ- ed to be related lo his leg problem. Frank hopes to one day be a history teacher and coach. Whatever he does, Frank will keep those around him laughing. 73 Rachale Baker Jason Bradley Thomas Brown Marsha Chandler Justin Doyal Sharon Foshcc Tonya Gaskill Laura Ceron Bobby Headley Bobbi Hogue Douglas Houchins Jennifer Hughes Canida Idell Shannon Klein Melissa Lewis Stephanie Lewis Henry Luttrill Bobby Maples April Martin Gerald Maywell Kirsten McClung Kavina Messenger Paula Pewitt Kenny Pryor Steven Quinlan David Reed Charles Reynolds Alicia Rhoudes Bryan Tipton Kirsten McClung is one eighth grader who can truly be called an individual. As the year progressed, the staff soon realized the job was bigger than they had dared to imagine. As deadlines approached, hundreds of details slowed the process. At times the staff wondered if an annual would ever take shape. The publishing company even suggested to not have a color end-sheet because in order to have it, sixteen pages had to be complete by the first of October. But the staff did complete it and an annual did take shape, color end- sheet and all.
