Foreword The 1971 PANTHER is presented, not only as a book of memories, but also as a history of the activities of this school year at Paradise. On the pages of this annual are the. pictures of our classmates, teachers, clubs and organizations, class favorites, sports, and the ad- vertisers who helped make the publication of this yearbook possible. May the pages of this book serve as a reminder of the encouragement and inspiration received from our friends, knowledge acquired from our studies, experience gained from our participation in various activities, relaxation obtained from sports, and satisfaction that we have done our best this school year. THE ANNUAL STAFF In Memoriam The Senior Class of Paradise High School dedicate the 1971 PANTHER to the memory of Mr. Gene Niblett, a member of the Paradise School Board from 1964 to 1970, and Richard Carlton Niblett, a- member of die 1970 Junior Class. We are grateful to Geue Niblett for the contribution of his time, his energy, and his untiring devotion to the education of the young people at paradise School. MR. GENE NIBLETT RICHEY NIBLETT Richey enrolled in the first -grade at Paradise in 1959. He was one of the class favorites in die 7th and 8ch grade. He served as sentinel and secretary of the FFA chapter. His love of sports was reflected by his enthusiasm and participation in them. EARL TATE Superintendent Superintendent’s Message General Omar Bradley has said, and I quote: We've learned how to destroy, but net to create; how to waste, but not how to build; how to kill men, but not how to save them; how to die, but seldom how to live. From all these things wc can see that much of our knowledge is of material purpose and not spiritual value. You must learn how to live or you: education will be in vain. You must have an understanding of spiritual purpose in life or you will live in disappointment anc despair. The purpose of your education and Lraining at Paradise school is to help make you better citizens, better men and women, and better and more useful members of the human race. Wc are giving you knowledge, but knowledge in itself is not enough. The rest you must supply in your own way, and I hope all of you will find the proper way to do this.
