IN MEMORIAM JIMMY LINDSEY 1943-1964 We, the Senior Class of 1965, dedicate this yearbook to the memory cf Jimmy Lindsey, a 1962 graduate, of Paradise High School. His sincerity, friendliness, and sense of humor endeared him to the hears of those who knew him best. ‘‘When Earth’s last picture is painted; and the tubes are twisted and dried. When the oldest colors have faded, and the youngest critic has died. We shall test, and, faith, we shall need it—lie down for an aeon o: two. Till the Master of All Good Workmen shall put us to work anew. P.T.A. OFFICERS Mrs. Dickinson, Pres. Mrs. Cora Beth Read, 1st V. P. Mr. Campbell, Parliamentarian Mrs. Mildred Read, 2nd V. P. We hear this statement often, but this only re- affirms its truth. Jobs of many kinds require a high school diploma as an essential qualifica- tion; many more worthwhile occupations require advanced training or education. You who are completing your high-school education are making the very necessary be- ginning. We hope Lliis does uol complete your education, and many seniors in the class of 1965 have indicated that they do noc intend for iheir high school graduation to end their education. The advanced work will be more difficult; adjustment to changes will not always be easy. Those who have enough perseverance will qualify themselves to meet the com- petition which they must face in the. ye.ar ahead. Our best wishes will go with you. J}. [f. G. R. Another essential part of this obligation is its planning and building ahead for your electrical needs tomorrow. Two big generating units are now under construction, and will be ready to serve you in 1965 and 1966. When completed they will add three-quarter million kilowatts to the Company's capability. Even as these plants are going up, other plans are on the drawing boards extending to 1980. It is only through such planning and building ahead that TP L and other investor-owned electric utility com panies are able to keep pace with the growing demands for electricity in homes, businesses and industries. For example, the average TP L resi- dential customer used more than four times as much electricity in 1963 tha- he used in 1948. In 1964, TP L expects to spend more than $52 million on new construc- tion. During the 1964-1970 period, con- struction expenditures by all investor- owned electric companies of the nation are expected to exceed $34 billion. Past records and projected plans cf TP L and the nation’s other investor- owned electric companies are your assurance of an adequate and econom- ical supply of electricity in the future.
