ADMINISTRATION (Superintendent's JlTessape History tells us that in mankind's long struggle to make a better living that he has done a better job of improving his material blessings than he has in improving his moral and spiritual blessings. Although the won- derful and amazing inventions of die last century have made life easier for many, the world is still full of suffering and misery. In spite of Man's mastery of the forces of nature, he has failed to master himself. Perhaps it will be impossible for any one student now enrolled in die Para- dise High School to change the course of history very much and to right all of the wrongs of the world. Nevertheless, each person can within him- self determine to do good instead of evil. He can search his heart and mind tc determine what is good and what is evil. He can turn to God as his adviser in all that he does. If he docs these things, he will have at- tained the highest success possible regardless of his station in life. This planning includes research to find ways to use atomic energy efficiently nnd economically in the production of electricity. At the present time, the use of atomic energy as a fuel for producing electricity in this area is not feasible or practical because of its high cost in relation to use of the vast resources of natural gas and other fuels. Looking to the future, however, TP L and ten other electric compa- nies in Teias, comprising the Texas Atomic Energy Research Founda- tion, are co-sponsoring with General Dynamics a research program con- cerning the use of atomic energy. In addition to participating in this joint effort in thermonuclear research, TP L employs a full-time nuclear research scientist. This is an example of free enterprise at work.
