Many of you will move on to more intensive and specialized kind of educa- tion on the college and university campuses throughout our nationg others of you will take on the challenges to be found in securing a job and raising a family. As things now stand your community has worked hard at giving you the opportunity to acquire the skills that are necessary to function effectively as an adult. There have been grand successes and jolting failures. There have been heart rendering as well as heart warming experiences. Each one of these events, we trust, has made you a stronger individualg we know they have made a better and stronger school. But your education is not finished. For you the demands to continue your intellec- tual, psychological and philosophical growth will always be present. This school has the same challenge. To be successful we need your support. We need your sincere efforts as a voter and as a parent to be certain that our schools have the finances and the qualified personnel to strengthen the strong elements and improve the poor. Each year the pages of this book record the activities long-to-be-remembered by those taking part in the history of the Paradise Unified School District. The yearbook will become one of your treasured possessions, especially for those who are in the class of 1957. You will be reminded by picture and word of many pleasant and worthwhile school exper- iences you and your classmates have had. You are a part of this history. We are proud of a new chapter which has been added to the history of the Paradise Junior-Senior High School. This new chapter is the graduation of the first senior class. Along with the distinction of receiving the first diplomas of your school goes a great responsibility to yourself and your school. You will continue to make important history. You will become more responsible for making your own decisions. Wise decisions come from thought and planning. Weigh carefully all of the pertinent facts, then stick to the right decision. In the history of tomorrow your contributions to life should represent the best that you have to offer. The best is needed greatly. Stirling City Principal This school year returns me to thirty years ago when I first came to the Stirling City School. The growth in our district since that time, as then Paradise had four teachers and Stirling City, five, has been more than just an increase in the number of families, and of girls and boys in Paradiseg our Unified School District today, is a faith the people in our Communities have in the young people of our area. As generations of young people in the past have been the mothers, fathers, and leaders of our great Nation, we the teachers of our children today, consider it a privilege to share in the experiences of our students in the Paradise Unified School District.
