GARVIN COUNTY GRADE SCHOOL TOURNAMENT The county tournament was held in Paoli again this year, and was a very successful one. The D boys contest was won by Corley after the defeated Parks in a hard fought battle 16-15. The Katie Girls took the D girls division easily by defeating Prairie Grove 31-15. In the E boys contest the -Erin Springs boys conquered the Beaty boys by a score of 21-9. The F girls tournament proved a good game with Pernell finally emerging victor over Hughes ZZ-16. The main game in the finals should have been the F boys with Pauls Valley and Wynnewood competing, but it was uninteresting with Wynnewood winning easily 20-Z. GARVIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL TOURNAMENT Two of the tournaments which the Paoli Puggettes entered this year were the Wayne Invitational Tournament and the County Tournament at Pauls Valley. In the Wayne Tournament they played the Addington team, and after a very close game, came out loser by Z points, 32.-30. They were more successful in the County contest as they beat Lindsay 33-Zl, only to get beat out in the next game by Elmore City, 37-21. Elmore City went on to win the Tournament. The Paoli Pugs entered the Lexington-Purcell Invitational Tournament this year. Their first game was with Bradley, who they defeated Z7-9. They next played Purcell, on Purce1l's court, and were nosed out 35-34. This loss put them in the consolation matches, in which they beat Verden Z8-21, and Dibble 33-21, to win the consolation trophy.

DISTRICT T OURNAMENT In the District Tournament this year, all the teams withdrew except Paoli and Hughes, so the Paoli-Hughes game at Purcell on Saturday, February 28, was the final game of the class C Tournament. The starting lineup for Paoli were: Harold Yoakum, Lonas Story, j. V. Shatley, Jack Sumner, and Clifford Arney. These players played the whole game Paoli made the first score but it was soon matched by Hughes when Mann made a set up. The pugs made two more baskets, and the quarter score was Paoli 6, and Hughes Z. Paoli was still in the lead at half-time ll-8. At the half, Yoakum had Z fouls and one field goal. Shatley had one free throw, Sumner had two field goals and one free throw, and Arney had one free throw, Shortly after the half, the Hughes team caught up with the Pugs and the game was tied 12-12, but this was the only time they even equaled the Paoli Team for the Pugs pulled away and stayed ahead the rest of the game. The end of the game showed Paoli ahead, Z7-Zl. The total points were Yoakum-8, Story-9, Shatley-1, Sumner-7, and Arney-Z.
