KNOFEL HANCOCK ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL PAOLI PUBLIC SCHOOLS PHILIP M. WESNER. superintendent PAOLI, INDIANA MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD L. E. CORNWELL. PRESIDENT NORMAN EDWARDS. SECRETARY PAULFARLOW, TREASURER Dear Students: Our school should be characterized by friendliness co-operation, efficient student government, high scho- lastic standards, and many other fine qualities. It is for these attainments that you, and the students who have gone here before you, have been striving. It seems that the future may demand of you the best possible qualities of character and work, you should not however, be discouraged by the mere possibility of obstacles. Instead, in the face of these possibilities you should prepare yourselves all the better. If you do this as you should, your hopes and ambitions for the future can be and will be cherished. To Another Who Directs The Destiny Of Kindergarten Through All Twelve Grades; To Mr. Wesner, Our Superintendent, We Give Our Accolades. Greetings: I count this school year among n$r most pleasant experiences in my public school work. The sincere acceptance of responsibility by the teachers, the wholesome respectful attitude of the pupils, and the genuine interest of the parents of the community have all contributed to a very successful school year. Such achievement can only be realized by a well traveled pathway between the home, the school, the church and other interests of the community as each in turn contributes to the other. The best measure of the efficiency of a school system is the achievement of its graduates. We are confident that the members of the class of 1952 can be trusted to bring honor to Paoli Schools by their achievements. I like Paoli and after all—I'm just: A Southern Indiana boy at heart who found God's answer to his prayer,— The chance to once again return to this good old Southern air. Sincerely, MS Indiana University We Dedicate This Book to the memory of Frank Denton, Jr. a member of the graduating class of 1952 whose sudden death came on November 18, 1951 from injuries sus- tained in an auto accident. We had sort of an accident. Our plane meant to land at Chambersburg but It was so foggy we overshot our landing and finally set down in a headhunters’ village. We got along pretty good with them. I gave them all those pennies out of your rare coin bank. I was cleaning my shotgun anc accidently shot Chief Ramroc around the back. Now we’re in trouble. The natives are hungry, and we just ain’t got nothing to feed them. Please send someone. Maybe Mort could come. By the way, would you go over and let my dog outside. He’s been in the basement for three weeks.
