Mr. C. M. FOSTER Mr. Foster teaches Agriculture and sponsors the F.F.A He devotes his afternoons to teaching and supervising a veteran’s class. Mr. Foster is married and has a small daughter, Sharon Kay. Mrs. HANNAH LINDSEY Graduated from Indiana State Teachers College in 1944. Mrs. Lindsey majored in commerce, home ec., and art in college, but commerce is her “first love.” She has worked in a bank and was an office secretary before teaching. One of her chief interests is traveling. Miss MAUD ANNA HAM Miss Ham is our Junior High English teacher and sponsors the Junior High Dramatics Club. Her favorite hobby is travelling, but she also enjoys art and music. Miss Ham is one of the sponsors of the seventh grade. Miss MARJORIE LINDLEY A graduate of Indiana University and a hometown girl. Miss Lindley is our teacher of home economics. One of her achievements is the establishment of the Paoli Chapter of F.H.A. Miss Lindley is an ardent photography fan. Mr. NOEL McDonald Mr. McDonald teaches biology and science, enjoying the field trips and experiments as much as his students do. In the summer he pursues his hobby of farming. His son James is a third-grader. Miss ETHEL McKITTRICK Miss McKittrick is very well known, both in and out of school. She is the sponsor of the school paper, “Paolite,” teaches classes all day, and directes the senior class play. We all miss “Betsy” but like to sec Kitty buzzing around in her ’40 Chevrolet, “Peggy.” Mr. CLAUDE MARSH Our industrial arts teacher proves his proficiency many times; for, whenever the electricity or an appliance fails, teachers and pupils call upon him as “Mr. Fixit.” He sponsors the Junior class and is chief usher at the ball games. Outside of school he docs carpentry, painting, and miscellaneous jobs.

Mr. MERLE LAMON 'he very busy principal of .H.S. graduated from West-rn Kentucky State Teach-xs College and Indiana University. His hobbies are hunt-ng and carpentry. He has a ull set of carpenter’s tools n the basement of his new tome. Mr. BILLY ABEL Mr. Billy Abel, a former Franklin College Basketball star, is six feet Four and three quarters, weighing 215 pounds. He is a very fine assistant coach. His hobbies are reading and minding his small son, Billy Lester. This is Mr. Abel’s second year at P.H.S. Mrs. RUTH ALEXANDER “Alex” is our Latin and Music teacher, dividing her time between grade and high school. A graduate of Dcp-auw University. “Alex” is one of our most vivacious teachers. lr. FRED CROWE fifth and sixth period in find Mr. Crowe busy ring the shekels of the pi, for he is the school irer of all cxtra-curri-funds. Other important pies are, Hi-Y sponsor. Trig teacher, and co-or of the sophomore Miss MABEL ELLIS Miss Ellis’s History and Geography classes are some of the most interesting classes in school because of the fact that she has traveled through the East where many historic events have taken place. Miss Ellis takes much pride in her ’49 Buick and her lawn and beautiful flowers. FLOYD FANCHER Floyd Fancher teaches Physics and Junior High Math in Paoli High School. Outside of school he does painting which keeps him busy through the summer months. His favorite hobby is “coon hunting”, taking his famous “coon dog” “Pr” Black Suzie along. KS D. E. CHAMBERS Our very fine coach, Mr. Chambers, graduated from Indiana University, and has been coaching ever since. He is coach, health, and physical education teacher. His hobbies are reading, sleeping, and eating.

Miss OLIVE MOSIER Miss Mosier’s dark eyes and quick footsteps down the hall betray her energetic nature as she goes about her duties as commerce teacher. This is her first year at Paoli, having taught at Birdseye last year. Hardinsburg is her home town. Mr. CHARLES L. STALCUP Mr. Stalcup is a very versatile teacher, having government, history, and algebra classes. He coached the first Paoli basketball team in 1919. At that time, he had never before even seen a basketball game. Miss VENEDA AILEEN RIDENOUR Miss Ridenour graduated from Oakland City College, majoring in health, physical education, and business. Her hobbies are sports and photography. She is the sponsor of the junior class, G.A.A., J.G.A.A., and the yell leaders. Mrs. EDNA TEAFORD Mrs. Teaford is a teacher of sophomore English and literature and one of the sponsors of the sophomore class. She is an accomplished pianist and a lover of good music. Mrs. DOROTHY STEPHENSON Mrs. Stephenson is an-, other busy P.H.S. teacher, who, in addition to being full-time librarian keeps house for a husband, daughter, and son. However, she always has a quick smile for everyone. Among her hobbies are flowers, cooking, sewing, reading, and “’most anything.” Mrs. NOBLE TRUEBLOOD Like the old fire, horse, Lois Trueblood is happy to be present for a half day of school. Two of junior English, a chemistry class, and a seventh grade homeroom equal a full half day, which certainly adds more zest to life. Mr. LUTHER WHITE Mr. White has taught in Paoli High School for a number of years and is known as one of the county’s leading band directors. He keeps very busy throughout the entire year. In addition to the band, he also directs the choir.
