Following an admittedly off-and-on season — off more often than on — the Ramblers- hit their season’s peak in the first minute of play against Pekin and held it without a waver or a second’s let-up through the final contest against Mt. St. Francis rfouV games later. In so doing they -.followed a tradition of Chambers-coached teams, which always look their best when the chips are down. In rolling thrdugh to their ninth championship in 21 sectionals. the Ramblers loomed head and shoulders above the field. Against the best opposition which could be afforded by the vagaries of the schedule and the result of at least one definite upset, Paoli’s championship was won by the convincing margins of 32, 12, 19, and 24 points.
