Athletic Council There he delights, there be recreation, and joUy pastimes that will fetch the day about from sun to sun. and rock the tedious year as in a delightful dream. —John Milton The Athletic program and many of the functions of the college are ably directed by this association under the supervision of Mr. Goodwin and Miss Nla oney. Big Sister Club My guide, philosopher, and n ' enf .— Alexander Pope The first association the freshmen women have with our college is through the junior women who welcome and guide them through their first experiences of college life. Page Twenty-five Marshalls ' Cluh Light is the task when many share the toil. — Homer By working together in close harmony, these guides extend Panzer hospitality to our guests at many of our social functions. Glee Club Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without. — Confucius Under the direction of Mr. Tooker. the Glee Club set the stage for many of our college functions. Christmas cheer was provided for patients at the Crippled Chil- dren ' s Hospital. The officers include George eilson. President; Claridel Kinney, Vice-President: Joan Warry. Secretary; Richard Warga. Librarian. Audio-Visual Cluh Tne Auaio-Visual Club members learned to operate projection and sound equip- ment and aided the visual aid program of the College by showing films in classes and assembly programs. Sci cience dub A comparatively new organization, the Science Club proposes to stimulate and maintain an interest in science. Discussions, field trips and motion pictures repre- sent the club s major activities. Tiige Jwenty-eighi If Activities V omens Officials Cluh The whistle footers who officiated at all intraclub and intramural games were presided over by Josephine Truppa. Miss Maloney was the club ' s advisor. Mens Officials Cluh The ever popular Officials Club provides its members with knowledge concern- ing officiating various athletic activities. Refereeing assignments provide practical experience. Page Jhirty M Women ' s Basketball Club Competition was high this year as each team competed enthusiastically to be- come the winner of the intraclub tournament. Field Hockey dub The stick experts enjoyed a fall season of good hockey under the direction of Miss Maloney. An intraclub tournament was the highhght of the season. Page Jhirty-one T ennis Club On sunny autumn afternoons, the members of the club were found developing tennis skills under the tutorage of Mr. Morehouse. Bowling Club The highhght of the bowling season was the intramural contest in Nvhich four teams competed for honors. The officers of the club are Ernest Horvath. President: James Psichos. Page Jbirty-tii ' o Leaders Cluh The Leaders Club develops leaders to assist in class room instruction in gymnas- tics and provides an opportunity for those who wish to exercise leadership abilities. This club is under supervision of Mr. Lorback. Gymnastic Cluh The Gymnastic Club, under the direction of Mr. N ' incent D Autorio. member of the U.S. Olympic Gymnastic Team, continued their hard work and efforts which were adequately displayed in the annual Spring Demonstration. Page Jhirty-three Wrestling Cluh New to extra-curricular activities is the Wrestling Club. The club is under the direction of William Lied. Folk Dance Club Dancing is the loftiest, the most moving, the most beautiful of the arts, because it is no more translation or abstraction from life; it is life i sei . —Havelock Ellis After more than two years of hard work and preparation. Five Centuries of the Dance was presented with the members of the group in authentic and beautiful cos- tumes. The dances included: the 1500 ' s Pavp.n and Galliard; the 1600 ' s— Gavotte; the I700 ' s-Minuet; the 1800 ' s-Cotillion Figures, the Fountain, St. Matthews and the Narragansett; the 1900 ' s— Tango. District 31 championships, defeating undefeated Plattsburg. New YorK State Teachers College and losing to Rider College, New Jersey Inter- collegiate Athletic Conference champions. J .v.
