' - 9Jn - JB STUDENT COUNCIL Presided over by Elwood Casperson, the Student Council represents the voice of the student body as they improve the student affairs of the college. Other officers include vice-president Corinne Wisniewski; secretary Robert Greenwald; and, treasurer Marilyn Maxcey. Miss Wacker and Dean Stapay are the club ' s advisers. Ptige Twenty -eight ATHLETIC COUNCIL The Athletic Council is delegated with the responsibility of administering and coordinat- ing every phase of Panzers extensive sports program. In addition it sponsors such pro- grams as the Soccer Ball. Varsity Dance and the Athletic Association Banquet. The officers are: Thomas Patierno. president; Joan Moran, vice-president; Ruth McCartney, secretary; and Kenneth Freed, treasurer. Mr. Goodwin. Mr. Peragallo and Miss Mellen are the advisers. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA Robert Pearson presides over our Future Teachers who contribute to the civic functions of the college. Blood bank, underprivileged children ' s Christmas party and financial drives tor the needy are a few of their endeavors. Miss Wacker is the club s adviser. GLEE CLUB Our musical programs at demonstrations, assemblies, graduation exercises and social events are directed by Mr. Dugdale. ATHLETICS VARSITY SOCCER The soccer team, coached ty Mr. Peragallo and captained by Neil O Donnell and Irwin Figman, went through a hard-fought season and won numerous victories. J.V. SOCCER The J.V. Soccer team showed great potentialities for future varsity teams. Page Jbirty-six X-COUNTRY I he X-country team had its best season yet. despite the fact that there were few return- ing lettermen. The coach was Mr. Dunlap. BOWLING Coached by Prof. Washnik. the bowling team won the 1955-1954 New Jersey Intercol Iegiate Athletic Conference Championship. Vaae Jbirty-seven BASEBALL For- the first time in a long time. Mr. Peragallo ' s baseball team had a number of letter- men returning. In addition a large freshman class supplied new talent. J.V. BASKETBALL Following in the footsteps of their big brothers, the jay vee basketballers completed a successful season. Coach Peragallo has high hopes that many of this years players will graduate to the varsity next year. Page 7hirty-eight VARSITY BASKETBALL Presenting a line-up comprised of capable veterans and promising freshmen, the 1954-1955 basketball squad compiled a record Coach Goodwin and the students are proud of. The Panthers won the New Jer- sey Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title with a record of six wins and no losses and participated in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, District 31 Championships, defeating lona College and losing to a strong St. Francis College of Brooklyn. This varsity five won 19 games and lost 5. Pcif e 7hirty-nine CHEERLEADERS The loyal rooters who cheer at all varsity games. Patricia Grady is the captain of this spirited group. WOMEN ' S FIELD HOCKEY TEAM A very successful season this fall with Jane Stanicki as Captain; Louise Hollingshead and Nancy King, Managers; and Miss Mellen, coach.
