Km 7527 6111.95 M tary Wity' back in the ancient year of 1949, forty-two bright-eyed, but somewhat awkward youngsters en4 tered the Great Halls of Learning at Pantego High School. We were awed and taken back by the great pow- erful ''Upperclgassmc-n, but it did not take us long, however, to find that they were not as bad as they seemed but were very nice. Wfhen school opened for the term 19-t9-IQSU, which was our Freshman Year, we had many new teachers and a new principal, Mr. Kelly XXfallace. The new teachers were: Mrs. Myrtle Paul Carowan, who taught the Commercial 'subjectsg Miss Anne Alman who taught the girls Home Economicsg our other teachers, Mr. joseph Wfindley, Mr. Paul Long, Mrs. jack Harris, and Mrs. T. Byrum who had been members of the High School Faculty the year before. We gained three new classmates this year, and they were: Hulda Cullifer and H. Newberry from Pinetown and Preston Wzitson from Fairfield. Dur- ing this term, we had the good fortune of having Mrs. Myrtle P. XVe were proud of this good number representing our class in such an Honor Society. Anna Davis and Hazel Paul had the' highest scholastic averages in the class and were, for this reason, selected to serve as Marshals at graduation. Joyce Gaylord received the Citizenship Medal this year. Wfhen school opened for the year 1950-1951, we found ourselves with the educational status of sopho- mores with Mr, joseph Wfindley as our homeroom advisor and had a population of thirty-five. We were glad to welcome Bobby Mobley from Plymouth and Magnolia Duckworth from Greenville as our new classmates, but were very sorry to lose: Rudolph Bell, Roselyn Bowen, Roy Boyd, T. Daniels, Phrosene Latham, Sherman Linton. Roy Sheppherd and Flda Dean Slade. Three new faculty members, Mr. Ed-
