'A SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Con t In our fourth year of school we were taught by Mrs George who had to leave soon after school started and Miss Kemper then became our teacher We gained more new students who were Boyd Allen Brownie Barnbler David Kirk Raymond Newcomb Alton Axe Billy Harbor Jeffle Johnson Mary Sue Bryant Irene Leven June Trayler and Dorothy WaL1n The fifth year was taught by Mary Vance who was the Home Room teacher By this time the class had begun departmental work Joining the class were Wayland Alexander Noel Barnett Troy May fharles Rogers Charles Shuffield Johne Ed Arthur Lolene Bromlow and Bonnie Sharp In the sixth grade our class was split into two home rooms being taught by Mr Stokes and Mr Bush Again we had quite a few Joining the class They were Donald Andresw Weldon Axe Jane Bumpas Linda Jeffers Tina Martin Jime Parr Doris Shuler Dean Edward Vernon Ellyson, Joe Grpson Sally Stafford Teddy James and Mayo MCKH1 tht In the seventh grade we were again divided into two groups The teachers were Mr Conrad and Mr Thurman Richardson We lost several students this year but as always we did gain a few They were Kenneth Reedy Gary North Joe Smith Jean Starr Marlon Marlin and Bobby Frye The eighth grade was an important year for the class Because grade school was too crowded were pushed over to high school Although we were even a step lower than freshmen we felt important grade banquet and graduation Joining us that year were Billy Stone Joyce Bouquet Don Downard Benny Hicks L J Johnson and Donald Mansel The Freshman year was a very happy one for all of us We were welcomed by the upperclassmen the usual manner The class was sponsored by John Truelove Only four came that year They were Gale Bonifield Carol Boyd Dorothy Stapp and David Franklin Our Sophomore year we were under the sponsorship of Doyle Carver and added Mary Garcia Ben Naylor Howard Newton and Marilyn Russell to our small number The Junior Year was a very exciting one with the Junior Play THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED and Junior and Senior Banquet and taking part in the graduation Our sponsors were Mrs Porter Brown and Miss Mabel Hare Coming into our class were Janie Arshman, Bill Jay Gail Johns, Dale Johns and Joe Russell This year as seniors IS our most important one Not only have we had fun but have worked hard and hope we have left something for other students to profit from There are Just twenty three of us left this year Three students married They are Gale Bonifield Jane Devin and Gall Johns We will have much to look back on in our senior year Our senior play FATHER WAS A HOUSEWIFE March 8 was a rare experience for all of us Then there were other wonderful times the Junior Senior Banquet, that wonderful Senior trip May ll 14, Baccalaureate Services May 20 and that long awaited date of May twenty fifth Senior Graduation We will look back on our twelve years in Panhandle schools as the happiest mernortes of our life by Ada Gaston L if , 1 ' ' t .
