The Adams family is headed by Jeff, 25, an architect who is trying to raise his younger brother and sisters. Carol, 15, is interested in entering and winning contests. Her goal in the play is to win a super-deluxe-color T.V. Wes, 17, is absolutely girl-crazy and the youngest sister. Hyacinth, 10, likes football. Throughout the play, many unusual things happen — a football game, a Hosiery Peddler arrives, unmailed invitations are found, a motorcycle is found in the living room, poison ivy, many, many laughs. But in the end things work out for the Adams family. Janice Suter and Cindy Sloan. Spring Musical iitting: Rachael Rosebrook, Jane Niese, Elaine Meyer. Teresa Frey. Brenda Williams. Coach Haenisch said, “This year’s squad was typified by a group of all-out hustlers. Although one of the smallest teams in the area, the Rockets managed to make almost every game close and exciting even though they were against bigger and stronger opponents. All the seniors and three underclassmen received letters. Albert Maag and Dave Sehlhorst gained experience and playing time although they did not letter. Shooting was a problem until the latter part of the season when the Rockets boosted their average by ten percentage points. Even though we will lack size again next year, the experience gained should help produce a strong nucleus for a winning season. Individual performances were highlighted by our junior MVP Bill Hovest and senior forward Dan Blankemeier being named honorable mention on both PCL and BVC squads. Junior Varsity Basketball The Junior Varsity basketball team finished its season with a win over Vanlue to bring its record to seven wins and eleven losses. During the season, there were many close games with the Junior Rockets coming from behind to win the games in the closing minutes of play. Eight young men on the Junior Varsity squad lettered which should boost their experience and help the Varsity program in the upcoming year. With their determination and a lot of hard work, the Junior Varsity basketball team will greatly add to the strength of basketball here at P-G.
