FOOTBALL SCHEDULE STRONG The Fleetwings came through the season with a record of 5 games won, 3 games lost and 1 game tied. Outscoring their opponents 155 points to 71, they came through the season averaging 17.2 points to the opposition's 7.9 per game. Among the highlights of the season was Pandorais victory at Bluffton for the first time. After allowing Genoa a 13 point lead in the first 3 minutes of play the Fleetwings came roaring back to deadlock with a 13-13 score. However, Genoa went through the season undefeated and was ranked as one of the stronger teams in the state in Class B competition. Another highlight of the season was the scoring record set against Leipsic 84-0. By defeating Columbus Grove twice, the Fleetwings annexed the football trophy that was awarded the winner with the best record out of the two series with Columbus Grove. When the Fleetwings went down to defeat they took it on the chin and came back stronger the next time with the will and desire to win. BASKETBALL VARSITY 1945-46 Pandora, after staying with Ottoville most of the game, lost out in the final minutes of play 34-29. The Fleetwings journeyed to Kalida and handed their team a 45-30 lacing for our first win of the season. Pandora, after leading all of the way, handed Vaughnsville a 39-30 beating. The Fleetwings staged an uphill fight all the way with the final minutes giving them victory over Ottawa Public 37-29. We treked to Grove and defeated our old rival 37-23. Pandora closed its pre-holiday s e a s o n with a 58-38 Win over Glandorf. This gave the Fleetwings a rec- ord of 5 wins and 1 loss before Christmas. Without the service of Don Gratz the Fleet- wings, offensive power was hurt considerably and we went down in defeat to Ft. Jennings 49-34. The Fleetwings still handicapped to some extent, lost out to a Coach C. C. Cox fast Elida team 59-30. Leading all the way, Pandora downed Leipsic 37-23. With both teams playing even ball most of the Way, the Fleetwings finally won out over Blanchard 37-34. In what most observers termed as an off night, we were defeated by Columbus Grove 34-33. Playing on even terms most of the game, the Fleetwings lost out in the last quarter due to a Parochial rally. The final score was Ottawa Parochial 49-Pandora 43. The Fleetwings snapped out of their losing streak by defeating the county league leaders, Miller City, 34-28. Encountering an old rival, the local lads went all out to gain a well earned victory over Bluffton 31-28. It marked one of the Fleetwings best performances of the year. After a slow start, we started a rally that never was relinquished to win handily from Ottawa Public 51-23. In the last minute of play we lost our final league game of the year to Continental 36-35. This gave the Fleetwings a season's record of ll games won and 5 games lost. In tournament play Pandora lost to a hard fighting Blanchard team 42-30. Our oppo- nents made an exceptionally high percentage of their shots. So ended the 1945-46 basket- ball season for Pandora under the capable coaching of Superintendent C. C. Cox.
