4.7610 As school opened rn the fall of 43 Mrs Button nee Mtss Stems watched three shy puptls toddle rnto her classroom They were Clarr Donelson Ellen Peterson and James Kent ln the thrrd grade Dale Range and Edna Jacobs decrded to jorn our group under the gurdance of Mrss Hrnkley and a rubber hose wh1ch she kept rn her desk Ln Mrs Carr s fourth grade the class enrollment was rarsed to seven wrth the addrtron of Clyde Johnson and bashful Allene Abers Mr Guy Johnson taught the frfth grade Thrs was the year we had many excrtrng experrences The one we remember most IS the trme we took a run away horse home Well the seven sur v1ved wrth no addrtrons or subtracttons from the class No new members thrs year but Mrs Lrnendoll taught us to wrrte wtth the greatest of ease Seventh Grade was the begtnnmg of J unror Hrgh Oh yes thrs rs when the two from Block v1lle Evelyn Button and George Gxbbs, jorned us After Mrs Brezelle taught us our state hrstory we went on to the etghth grade We entered the e1ghth grade worrred about our regents Our fears were soon put at rest by Mr Hawkrns who convrnced us that we would all make the grade Flora Morton jotned us here Seems we always had to look out for somethmg and thrs year rt was the Freshman tnrtratron In our frrst year rn I-hgh School we gatned four new buddres Ray Barrett Marrlyn Johnson Carol Elhson and Perry Smtth Thrs gave us an even 14 to start our Sophomore year They say a Sophomore IS a wrse fool but who knows?
