While the Junior Class presented as their play, One Foot in Heaven, the Student Council sent tour delegates to Jacksonville, Florida, for the Southern Association ot Student Councils convention. Ouill and Scroll held their tall initiation, and Karen Capps was elected Holiday Oueen to reign over the A Cappella Choir. New teachers as well as new students scanned the hall for the first time. The annual Howdy Assembly initiated the stage which hosted many assemblies during the year. Clubs elected officers and squared away for nine busy months. As publications sales began, so did plans for the Junior Class play. Harvester footballers won their first home game of the season over Bowie of El Paso. Linda Slcevves student body president and Betty Sprinkle cheerleader, third and fourth from left entertain representatives from Palo Duro High School before the football game on L 5 C c C b Gala Activities November, 1958 Waikiki Night Club, Girls' Choir booth, captured first place, and Kevin Chisholm and Theresa Marak were crowned King and Queen amidst the gaiety ot the All'School Carnival, Top science students were chosen charter members of nationally-affiliated Tri Sci, and the T958 Harvester yearbook won the Medalist award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Child- ren's Theater trouped The Wizard ot Oz to Sam Houston to premiere the production presented at all elementary schools. Homecoming during the Thanksgiving holidays drew about 300 exes.
