FOREWORD As you look through your yearbook in future years, which will come with overwhelming speed, we, the 1956 HARVESTER staff, hope that it will recall many pleasant mem- ories. We have tried to record the school year as it happened with its pleasures and discomforts, trials and events that will remain in our memory as being amusing or Joyous. We live in a section of our country and state which produces ,some of the food and clothing for our nation. Agriculture is around us everywhere we turn. lt has a great influence in our living, which is felt in our town and community. Farms with their flowing wheat fields, ranches with herds of cattle roaming over the Texas prairie, and business establishments which contribute directly or indirectly to the needs of agricul- turalists are all a part of this influence. It has been said that the strength of a nation is in its soil. Realizing, therefore, the importance and influence of agriculture on our lives, we chose as our theme Agriculture in the Top o' Texas. Carrying the theme through THE HARVESTER, we have given several activities, new developments, and everyday jobs of the agriculturalist as compared with school life. The staff of THE HARVESTER wishes to thank the faculty and student body for being cooperative and patient in the making of your 1956 HARVESTER. MICHAEL PRICE, Editor, and HARVESTER staff. never forget him. DEDICATION To L. I. Edmondson, our principal, fnends and ad visor, we dedicate Tl-IE 1956 HARVESTER.
