Aibavh.-0 ,le g,,,,1,z:. 4 f FOREWORD We, the staff, hope that when you look through this book in the years to come, it will bring forth pleasant memories--of your classmates, building scenes, fads, teen talk, and other school activities that have made this year a happy one for you. This year the staff chose Student Gov- ernment as the theme for our yearbook, because our school was elected president of the Texas Association of Student Coun- cil. In order to carry out this theme through- out THE HARVESTER, we have compared some of our campus activities with paral- lel departments of our national govern- ment. In doing this we hope we have em- phasized the important role student gov- ernment plays in our school life today. Joy Moore, Editor and Harvester Staff . 5 , . UNITED NATIONS . . . Just as the United Nations functions as a focal organization in solving world problems, Pampa High Schoo1's Student Coun- cil is the P.H. S. governing body that is concemed with problems and affairs of the school and its students, and in promoting good will among other schools through the Texas Association of Student Councils. Marion Stone, representing Pampa High School as president of Texas Association of Student Councils, and Mrs. Ruby Capps, P.H.S. Student Council sponsor, plan projectsto be discussed at the state convention, which was held in Denton March 25-27. 6 DEDICATION Last year the Student Council of Pampa High School was elected President of Texas Association of Student Councils for 1954-55, after serving that year as vice president. Few people realize the hard work these students have put into the task that goes with such an honor. The Student Council has done a great job in goveming our student body, above all their project of organizing Student Councils in towns that do not have them. Considering this and their many other achieve- ments, we, the staff of the 1955 HARVESTER, ded- icate this yearbook to the Student Council and to the future students of Pampa High School who will carry on where they left off. . - an ,af I fi
