Seniors of 1946 were members of the first class in five years to graduate into a world in which peace prevailed. Because of the cessation of hostilities and the end of gas and tire rationing, the group was allowed to make the traditional trip to Carlsbad Caverns-a trip which was suspended during the war. Other activities included the production of the class play, Three- Cornered Moon, January 17 and 18, the senior assembly December 12, a masquerade party December 7, and the Junior-Senior banquet and Kid Day in the spring. Head sponsor of the group was Miss Lee Sullivan, assisted by Miss Anne Louise Jones, Miss La Nelle Scheihagen, Mr. Milton Berg, Mr. B. G. Gordon and Miss Dorothy Hoyle. ,, 'am wffainsp' , W5 QM A 1,' , - f 1 i , , 'Q ,fi-. Tiki? 1 'Nil if W.. , WAR ij, , 3517 Q. 01- ,4 an-H. J. -ZW! df Q- .. n-A This year's Harvester team. coached by Otis Coffey and Claude Whittington and cap- tained by Jimmy Terrell, fin- ished one of its most colorful seasons with eight wins, two losses, and one tie. Facing one of the toughest districts in the state. district 1AA, the Harvesters opened con- ference play at Harvester Park by defeating the Brownfield Cubs 26-6. The Pampan's rated ninth in the state when they journeyed to Lubbock to meet a Westerner team that refused to be bucked and the game ended in a 0-0 deadlock. The follow- ing week the undaunted Har- vesters rolled over a stout- hearted Borger team at Bulldog Stadium 33-0. The Plainview Bulldogs lived up to their reputation as a fast- scoring machine as they grabbed a 14-7 point game at Plainview. The last and biggest game of the season was that against the Amarillo Golden Sandies. The first half was all Pampa's as Randall Clay eluded the entire Sandie secondary to score once and placekick a perfect field goal for another three points. The Sandies. far from out of the game, came back to overcome the lll-point lead and counted four times in the second half. The final sco1'e saw Amarillo win 2440. ,T nl Gorillas shown above are - Bottom Row, left to right: Coach D. V.
