MIKE MAHN, Manager ARDEN SMITH, Assistant Manager Manager, Mike Mahn, reports the an- nual high school carnival was a success again this year. The carnival eamed around S550 for the student body. Of this amount, S94 went to the annual fund to help in the pro- duction of the yearbook. About seventeen dollars went to the classes and the remainder went into the Associated Student Body Fund. A large crowd was on hand to watch Kathie Evans, last year's carnival queen, crown her classmate, Karene Amdt, queen of the 1958 carnival. The contest was not decided tmtil the last minute when a strong challenge by the seniors in behalf of their candidate, Bonnie Bidle, had to be met by the supporters of the sophomore candidate. The fresh- man candidate was Toni Patton, and the junior candidate was Beverly Dill. Following the crowning of the queen, the prizes were awarded. Mrs. Everett West won the door prize, a turkey. Emmert Davis won the set of dinnerware, and Mrs. O. J. Hill was the winner of the camera. The students wish to thank the community for their fine support in making this year's car- nival a success.
