This year was the first that the eight-man teams of Whitman County were all in one league. With a two won, four loss, one tie season record Palouse played better than the record shows. In the Rosalia game, Palouse played the Whitman County Champions a closer game then the score indicates. Due to some unlucky breaks Palouse lost three touchdowns in the game because of penalties. Barring this fact the game would have been closer scorewiseg but the Palouse team never gave up. The Lacrosse and Tekoa games saw Bob Tuttle, our fiery little play caller, and Lawson Chase, our fleet half- back receive injuries which left the single-wing backfield lacking much experience. Palouse played its best game of the season on the Colton field. Also the best game that it had played there in several years as they beat Colton 39-25. The Colton team had beaten Lacrosse the week previous to Palouse's invasion. Injuries hurt the team as Joe Hulett broke his hand at the first of the season and could only do the place kicking for us during the season. Also Bob Tuttle and Lawson Chase were out because of injuries during some parts of some gan Dick Styer was probably the most outstanding man in the county for his size as he tackled the big man hard. The reserve backfield played very good for the amount of experience they had. Leaving the team by graduation are Bob Tuttle, Lee Chase, Albert Nye, Bill Holway and Gene Raymond. 44
