A. is stressing rural leadership in attending public speaking and Parliamentary Procedure contests. The chapter sponsored a par- liamentary procedure practice contest for Whitman and Asotin Counties in Decem ber. The members gain practice in these contests which will be invaluable when they take their place as rural leaders. The care of projects is a means where practical application of principles learned in the class room can be made. A11 F. F. A. members carry at least one project. Many of the projects are hogs which are fattened and exhibited at the Spokane Junior Livestock show. Early in the year, we had installation of officers and initiation of new mem- bers. The officers were: President, Jackie Humphreys, Vice President, Janet Thompson, Secretary, Virginia Barr, and Treasurer, Shirley Bippes. The chap- ter then started to work. They prepared a chili feed for the F. F. A. when they had a Parliamentary Procedure Day. They had concessions at the ball games. The members worked for their degrees, which were awarded at the annual Mother's Tea and Style Show. T'he officers for the year 1957-58 were installed at that time. They also worked for their letters and chevrons, which were awarded at Class Night.
