THE SHOWBOAT MINSTRELS was the title of the junior play, presented in the high school auditorium on the night of November 18th, 1955. The setting for the show was an 1890 show- boat on the Mississippi River. The plot soon began to thicken as Captain,Peppereorn's money was discovered missing. The villian was soon discovered, but not until the darkies had told their jokes. The production was considered a grand success. THE GREENER GRASS was the title of the Palouse one-act-play presented at the Whitman County one-act-play contest on February 11th. The play was a comedy depicting the home life of an average American family. The performance was excellent and as a result the play was judged second in the contest. Sharon McGinnis tied for the best actress award. The east also presented the play for the P. T. A. and for the Grange. The cast included: Marlene Cox, Dick Honsinger, Mike Town, Patty Redman, Sharon McGinnis, Wilford Murray, and Virginia Barr. The senior play, entitled DESPERATE AMBROSE, was presented on the night of April 13th. The setting was the lobby of an old-fashioned hotel. The place soon began to jump when Am- brose and his pal, Bert, two cowardly easterners, wandered into one of the toughest, mean- est, rootin tootinest gun-slinging towns of the old west. Ambrose and Bert fouled the schemes of the crooked sheriff and his gunman, Hoot Owl Pete, but the result was a happy ending. Everyone was pleased by the fine performance. 3 .
