Some highlights of the year A were the trip to see the TV show Head of the Class , the garage sale, and the White Cane Day, which was spent raising funds for the blind. The Astronomy Club sparked a new interest in outer space at Palos Verdes. The club took many field trips including a trip to Catalina. In addition, they spent many nights looking at stars and identifying constellations. l l . They discussed various aspects of outdoor recreation ranging from fun activites to environmental concerns. They also went on field trips to National Parks in the area. Amateur Radio and Electronics Club members enjoyed experimenting with circuits and practicing the Morse Code while learning the principles and procedures behind the fascinating world of l-lam Radio communications. Club President Mark Chang said, Since we all had a similar interest, it was really fun talking about our hobby. The Palos Verdes Latin Club had a successful year. They participated in various banquets and beach parties. Also, they were members of the Junior Classical League and won different awards at the National Latin Conven- tion in Irvine. For the first time, the German Club had an Oktoberfest Day in which gummi bears were sold. The annual Alpine Village trip was also a success. In the spring, Magic Mountain was their main event.
