Both in and out of school members of the club met to play various strategic and role playing games. The International Board Games Club, new to Palos Verdes, is a consolidation of the Backgammon and Oriental Chess Clubs. Alicia Carosso. 2nd Row: Debbie Su, Cinthia Wen, Ellen Schulkin. 3rd Row: Yuml Ro, Amy Lin, Mary Miller, Marni Friedman, The Tall Flags, led by Captain Sara Thompson and Co-captain Dede Militello, had an outstanding year win- ning many first places in both parades and field show competitions, including First Place at the competitive West Arcadia Band Review. Sara Thompson said, l was pleased with the team because they pulled together and deserved all of the honors they earned. The Rifle Squad, led by Captain Cinthia Wen and Co-captain Alicia Carosso, were also very successful, winning, for the first time in the history of the PV Marching Band, the Sweep- stakes Award at the Claremont Field Competition. They have always helped to boost the band's general effect score. The Rifles have increas- ingly been able to compete more and more every year, winning more awards as well. 0151 ain ell
