More emphasis on research, theory In the Art Department, more emphasis has been placed on read- ing, dealing with artists and and artists ' techniques in the belief that students would acquire new ideas and techniques. Students designed and constructed a calendar in Creative Design which was sold at the annual craft fair. Also, students learned techniques in Beginning Art which helped them visulize shapes, spaces contours, and spacial relations. Ceramics was a popular course with an emphasis on sculpturing.
