The PV sophomore basketball team completed an energetic, high-spirited season, finishing in third place in Bay League this season. Led by co- captains Barry Hartley and Scott Tredennick, the team finished with a record of 16 wins and 8 losses overall. Scott Tredennick, who led the team in scoring, was voted MVP for the season. Another great asset to the team, center Dean Decker, gave great inspiration and consistently good play throughout the year. The season, as Rich Otera put it, was really not all we could have wanted, but we all tri d the best to make the team run smoothly and ef- ficiently. The coach, Doug Mitchell, really helped us realize the flaws in our playing and how to try and work them out. I think that we did respectably well in the season overall. The Palos Verdes freshman basketball team, in spite of strong hopes and good potential, had a disappointing season. They finished with a record of 3- 1 1 in League play; yet even though their record didn ' t show it, the freshmen have a lot of potential, especially in forward Jason Taylor and guard-forward Greg Whitley. Guards Ray Landero and John Brown also exhibited strong, consistent play.
