Finishing with a record of 5-1-1, the Sophomore football squad came in second in the Bay League. Continuing its dominance on the field, the team was filled with Varsity material. Jackson Wang, Brian Connors, Sam Yoon, Dean Decker and Mike Amaral led the team to victories with their skillful play. This year ' s coaches, Ken Russell, Jim McConologue and Brant Blakemen helped develop the team ' s potential. The highlights of the season were the victories over Santa Monica and North. While PV kicks off, Mark Stofila Onn Humphr(»v. and Dom Militello hit a Centennial return man Led by Tri-captains John Lukrich John Wang, and John Rafuse, the Palos Verdes Varsity football team finished the season with a record of 2-5, coming in fourth overall in the Bay League. With few returning Varsity players and a new system, the team performed well under pressure. Brady Russell, John Mclntire •»C1 MM New to the competition of high school football, the boys ' freshman team had a disappointing year, finishing with a record of 2-6. In spite of this poor start, Coach Gil Eberhard sees poten- tial for the future, especially in MVP ' s Derek Capper and John Milam. Other strong players worth watching for were Hayden Harmon, Austin Peters, Chris Miller, and Steve Hillis. The high point of the season came when the freshmen demolished Mira Costa, 38-6. In spite of a valiant effort, a struggling Chris Miller gets taken down by Santa Monica defenders- Sports-181
