Diane Beardslee Scientific students work hard in labs PV students had many science courses from which to choose. Some of the more popular classes were Biology I, Chemistry I Physical Lab Science, and Physics. Special interest science classes were Marine Science and Earth Science. Lack of funds again hurt the math department this year. One teacher was layed off while another was hired to teach both Math and English. Jill Thompson, the new teacher taught Algebra I and College Prep I as well as some English Courses. Calculus, the most advanced course offered at PV, was altered this year to include more top track students. Calculus was split into two classes. One of these classes worked faster and toward college credit whereas the other class stressed complete understanding at a slower pace.
