Frosh-Soph soccer finished fourth in Bay League. The team started out strong, winning five out of seven games and placing fourth in the South Invitational Tournament. Unfortunately the team lost six valuable players in an accidental violation of CIF rules. The team, although not as strong as it was in the beginning of the season, went on to beat South 2-1 in the last and most exciting game, the team finished the season 9-7-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the Bay League. JV also finished fourth. Starting out very strong, the team placed second behind West in the South Tournament. It tied many games and finished its season 12-6-4 overall and 2-4-4 in Bay League. Strong finish achieves third round CIF BEATING OFF A SLOWFOOTED OPPONENT IS FOWARD Mark Porizky as he stretchs past a West Warrior. OUTREACHING THE OPPOSITION, all-League half-back Mark Gaubatz reaches past ensuing West Warrior. Losing 2-1 in the fifth overtime of a tough match against West, PV ended its season in the third round of CIF bringing out a record crowd. The team came on with a strong finish in season to capture third place in Bay League and a seat in CIF. It won two crucial and miraculous games against both South and Rolling Hills. The season ended with a 17-5-2 record and 5-4-1 in league. The team never lost its inspiration under the leadership of captains Chris Allaire and Rick Polacek. Allaire also gained the Best Defense title and Polacek received Senior Nominee and Most Valuable Player. Jeff Goodman was awarded Best Offense. Mark Porizky deservingly got Most Inspirational Player while Bill Clancy and Tom Bennett split the Most Improved Player award.
